McKenzies To Auction Rare Surfing & Maritime Collectables

McKenzies Auctioneers will be treating collectors and buyers to an incredibly
unique opportunity to add significant rare surfing and marine collectables to
their prized possessions.

Beginning at 6pm on Tuesday 15 November, the auction line-up features a
collection built over decades and comprises over 100 vintage and modern
surfboards by important local, Australian and overseas makers including Mark
Richards, Dick Brewer, Joe Larkin, Cordingley and Ian Cairns, as well as
Malibus and long boards.

Items also include kneeboards, surf skis, skim and hand board and a
collection of 35 vintage skateboards.
Director Peter McKenzie said, “This auction is very rare because the entire

catalogue is built from the collection of one man with a true love of everything
surfing and marine related.

“The pieces are truly remarkable and not to be missed, they are the last of this
man’s extensive collection so this opportunity won’t arise again.”
For lovers of everything surf related, the auction doesn’t end with surfboards,
there will also be a large collection of surf photos, posters, signed ephemera
and surfing collectables.
Also guaranteed to attract attention is the extensive array of maritime items
including early outboard motors, nautical instruments, early wooden ships
pulleys, lamps and portholes.

Viewing commences three days prior to the auction.
